The most recent rap beef between Joey BadA$$ and Troy Ave reached a fevered pitch in early march when Troy Ave took some very direct shots at the late Pro Era Co-Founder Capital Steez who died in 2012. The cause if death was confirmed a suicide but the actual method of death had remained a mystery. The most recent diss track by Troy Ave, called "BadAss" seems to imply that Capital STEEZ may have jumped to his death.
On the track Troy Ave says,
"Cause I'm a savage, this gon leave you sad bitch/Don't get suicidal like ya friend, here's a casketSteez burning in Hell, my burner's in my beltI'm really killing shit, you niggas killing yourselfFucking weirdos, off the roof, "Steer clear yo!"This niggas tryna fly, he think he a superheroSplat man! Fuck you and that man"
Troy took a lot of heat from outside Hip-Hop artist such as Styles P and The A$AP Mob, who just endured a loss of their own when A$AP Yams died in 2014.
Joey BadA$$ hadn't said much about Troy Ave's comments until he recent dropped in to Sway In The Morning and killed the 5 Fingers of Death freestyle.
Joey held back nothing on the show and took the chance to address Troy's comments.
The lyrics in the freestyle also seem to imply that Capital STEEZ may have ended his life by jumping to his death.
During the freestyle Joey shot back while honoring his fallen friend.
“He took a leap of faith and only brightened his light/You took a cheap shot of hate and only shortened your life/The difference between you and him is that he lives forever/You’ll be the first to die that nobody ever remembers/Because the city never need you ever/You committed career suicide and made New York better.”
Though my suspicions are not confirmed I think its safe to say that the lyrics from both of these songs seem to confirm Steelo's cause of death,
Either way suicide is not the answer. So if you or someone you know may be in danger due to mental illness or depression call
